Deborah Dennis, MA

Professional Counselor

Deborah has a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University, an APA (American Psychological Association) accredited program, and is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Ontario, Canada.

In a collaborative process, Deborah offers talk-therapy where she helps clients explore issues that may be standing in their way, discuss troubling or confusing thoughts and feelings, and consider new possibilities to move forward on life’s journey. She provides a trusted counseling relationship, creating a safe and compassionate space that encourages sharing and insight, which are foundational for healing and growth, and tranformation.

After agreeing on the topics you would like to address in your initial sessions, Deborah works together with clients to formulate goals and develop a step-by-step plan to get there. She adopts a holistic and integrated therapeutic perspective, selecting evidence-based techniques that best suit each client's unique situation, values, culture and objectives.

Deborah brings professional maturity and counseling competence to the counseling practice. After transitioning from a business consulting career that started in Toronto, took her to Paris, Budapest, Frankfurt, London and New York, her search for deeper meaning led her to shift her career to helping indivduals, couples and families thrive.

She recognizes that counseling is an ongoing learning process, and continues to expand her experience including exposure to different supervisors and modalities. Since completing her internship at East to West, Deborah is presnetly working towards her Canadian psychotherapy licensing under the supervision of Maura Rohde (MA, LPC) and Dr. Michelle Ferrell, PhD.

Deborah warmly invites individuals, couples and families on a journey of self-awareness that will leverage your strengths so that you can achieve greater resilience.
