Individual Counselling

Lena is a psychological trauma-informed counsellor and has extensive clinical experience of working with a wide variety of issues in private practice and healthcare settings. Having an international background, Lena brings a first-hand understanding of expatriate life, a strong cross-cultural awareness and a passion for supporting adult Third Culture Kids and the international community.

Lena’s mission is to empower individuals to navigate life’s challenges at their own pace, by creating a professional, compassionate and non-judgmental space where they can explore their experiences, realise their strengths, and discover renewed hope for meaningful change and personal growth.

At the core of Lena’s work is the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth, healing, and hope. Lena’s broad experience equips her well to meet each client where they are, and embracing their uniqueness, support them in their journey to moving towards their goals.
Approach

Lena’s approach in counselling is integrative, trauma-informed, and evidence-based. She incorporates concepts and approaches from person-centred therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, psychodynamic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and transactional analysis. Lena works collaboratively with her clients to tailor the counselling process to them and their individual needs, ensuring that they can engage with and benefit from each session. Lena’s trauma-informed framework means she is able to sensitively acknowledge and address the impact of trauma in a person’s life, creating a safe space to process and heal.

Lena continuously invests in her professional development through staying up to date with research and engaging with training opportunities, ensuring her work is evidence-based and ethical at all times.

While her passport is German, Lena was born and raised in Vietnam and lived in various parts of the UK for 8 years of her early adulthood. Lena relocated to Germany in 2024, where she shares her life with her husband.
